John Logan’s acclaimed one-woman play I’ll Eat You Last: A Chat With Sue Mengers is set to return to the stage with Deborah Joves reprising her role as Hollywood super-agent Sue Mengers. Joves, who previously portrayed the legendary agent in a twice-extended sold-out run at Coastal Repertory Theatre in Half Moon Bay, will take the stage at Pacifica Spindrift Players under the direction of Paul Smith for a limited engagement from May 19 to May 28.

Set in 1981, this buoyant solo comedy invites audiences into the Beverly Hills home of Hollywood’s number one agent, Sue Mengers. Mengers is about to throw one of her legendary, star-studded dinner parties, but her plans are overshadowed by having just been fired by superstar client Barbra Streisand. As Sue anxiously waits for the Funny Girl star to call, she shares an array of juicy and jaw-dropping Hollywood stories. With a combination of wicked humor and pathos, the play offers a glimpse into the glamorous, cut-throat world of Hollywood in the 1970s and 1980s, and explores the complex and often controversial character of one of its most prominent figures.

This fast-moving 75-minute play will run without intermission. Contains strong language.
