The Book of Will is a historical comedy by Lauren Gunderson about the creation of the First Folio, the first collected edition of Shakespeare’s plays. After Shakespeare’s death, his friends, including Henry Condell and John Heminges, work to preserve his legacy by compiling his works. Amid personal loss and struggles, they fight to ensure Shakespeare’s genius is remembered.

The Book of Will premiered in 2017 and has received praise for its clever writing and historical depth, solidifying Gunderson’s reputation as one of America’s most produced playwrights.
