A New Look for Pacifica Spindrift Players
Posted on May 13, 2020
Way back in the fall of 2019 – before a certain virus even had a name – the Executive Board at Pacifica Spindrift Players started working with a designer within the PSP community on updating and redesigning its logo. This work continued through the winter, until the Board settled on a design it felt honored PSP’s history, while celebrating the present and envisioning where it might go in the future.
A global pandemic was not part of this plan.
As you know, COVID-19 has forced theatres across the country and the world to close their doors and shutter productions before they can even start. It might seem like an inopportune moment to introduce a new logo for a small, volunteer-supported community theatre like PSP.
At the same time, this crisis has also compelled artists and performers – including those of us here at PSP – to think creatively and proactively about how to continue to safely produce art and keep theatre alive within our communities in completely new ways, from virtual workshops to play reading series to streamed online performances.
From this perspective, it feels like the perfect time to unveil a new logo – one that’s emblematic of this spirit of innovation that will carry PSP through the COVID-19 crisis and well beyond.
With the banner at the top of this page, we’re proud to introduce the PSP community to our new look for the future.
Thank you for joining us on this journey.
