COVID-19’s Impact on Theatre in Pacifica
Posted on April 10, 2020
Due to the unprecedented threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, Pacifica Spindrift Players has been forced to make the difficult decision to cancel or postpone several fully staged theatrical productions (including No Exit and A Streetcar Name Desire) from our 2019-2020 season, in accordance with official shelter-in-place orders and out of an abundance of caution for our patrons and artists alike.
While many are surely struggling during this incredibly challenging time, small community-based and volunteer-run arts organizations like Pacifica Spindrift Players are particularly vulnerable, since our financial stability comes primarily from the sale of tickets to our live theatrical performances.
While we’re actively working to explore new and creative ways to bring the arts to our community in innovative, socially-distanced ways, we’re also asking our patrons and members to consider making a generous donation to PSP to keep theatre alive on the coast – through this current international crisis and, hopefully, for many years to come.
If you would like to support PSP and live theatre in your community, please consider making a donation using the following link, or by contacting the box office directly at 650-359-8002.
